The Varsity Trappers traveled to Burke(boys) and Platte(girls) today.
The girls had a great day on the course today in Platte! Kailin Odens had her best day of the year and brought home the 2nd place medal. Macy Rokusek finished in 7th place. Campbell Mogck got 9th and Sutton Bueber brought home the 15th place medal. Nice work girls!!!!!
For the boys Erick Buechler placed for the first time! Erick is bringing home the 18th place medal!! Congrats Erick!!

Kailin Odens is a future 2026 graduate of Scotland High School. Her plans are to attend South Dakota State University in Brookings, South Dakota, in the fall of 2026. She will
be in the Fine Arts, Design, and Humanities Exploratory Studies Program. Kailin is the daughter of Chad and Erin Odens. She has two older brothers, Conner (22) and Kade
(19) and a younger brother Colton (16). Kailin has participated in student council, marching band, FCA, FFA, FCCLA, oral interp, play, cross country, volleyball,
basketball, golf, and rodeo. She is also involved in both her church and community. Kailin has many honors and awards during her time at SHS, National Honor Society,
senior homecoming queen, band MVP, all-conference volleyball, trapper girls’ basketball energy and enthusiasm award, most valuable golfer, three-times girls’ golf state qualifier,
two-time wrangler 20x rodeo qualifier, and two-time state qualifier high school rodeo. Kailin’s favorite memory was the main stop functions after volleyball and football games.

The Scotland School District recently went through an accreditation review from the South Dakota Department of Education. The DOE looks at many things through this process, but probably one of the more important aspects of the review is how our teachers are teaching the state's content standards. Superintendent Sundberg said, "I am so proud of how our teachers showed the reviewers what we do here in Scotland. The reviewers commented that our teachers did a great job with their lesson plan design and their curriculum maps. I really appreciate the hard work that our teachers put in to make the accreditation process be as smooth as it was. Sometimes the process is difficult, and our teachers made it work really well."
The state has accredited our school for another five years, at which time the school will undergo another review from the Department of Education.

Powerful Pitching Performance From Kylie Guthmiller Carries Scotland/Menno Varsity Trappers Past Viborg/Hurley

Kylie Guthmiller struck out 12 batters as the right-handed pitcher led Scotland/Menno Varsity Trappers past Viborg/Hurley 5-1 on Wednesday at Hurley. Guthmiller allowed two hits and one run over seven innings while walking four.
Scotland/Menno Varsity Trappers were the first to get on the board in the first when an error scored one run.
Addison Sayler singled down the right field line, which helped Viborg/Hurley tie the game at one in the bottom of the second.
Scotland/Menno Varsity Trappers took the lead in the top of the fourth. Elle Hlavac grounded out, scoring one run, to give Scotland/Menno Varsity Trappers the edge, 2-1.
Lexi Lindemann took the loss for Viborg/Hurley. The pitcher went seven innings, allowing five runs (two earned) on six hits, striking out seven and walking four.
Bailey Neuharth, the number seven hitter for Scotland/Menno Varsity Trappers, led the way with two runs batted in. The infielder went 1-for-3 on the day. Guthmiller, Kadence Bierle, Lexie McNinch, Ervin Schrock, Kimberly Kubal, and Neuharth each collected one hit for Scotland/Menno Varsity Trappers. Guthmiller stole two bases. Scotland/Menno Varsity Trappers ran wild on the base paths, accumulating four stolen bases for the game.
Sayler and Brooklyn Ludens were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected one hit for Viborg/Hurley while hitting back-to-back. Sayler went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in.
Scotland/Menno Varsity Trappers welcome Hanson on Monday for their next game.

Savannah Meng, a member of the Scotland High School Class of 2026, has grown up in Scotland with her parents, Rishley and Daniel Pearson. She has two younger brothers-Brayson, a junior
and Brody a sophomore at Scotland high school. Savannah has participated in play, choir, boys’ basketball stat, yearbook, FCCLA, and volleyball. She received All-Conference LMVC and All-
Conference Great Plains for volleyball. Her favorite teachers are Mrs. Fuks and Mrs. Walloch. For her senior project she became a certified lifeguard. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out
with her friends and family. Her role model is Steve Settje, because he has shown her that hard work pays off. This fall, she will attend Mitchell Technical College for Social Services.

Our Preschool students have been learning all about community helpers this week, and today they got to see some in action!
Preschool, Junior Kindergarten, and Kindergarten students enjoyed a special visit from Joe and Tristan from Scotland Redi Mix. They shared all about their work and gave students a close-up look at some equipment, including a mixer truck and a telehandler!
There were LOTS of giggles, curious questions, and plenty of horn honking fun! 🎉
A big thank you to Joe and Tristan for taking the time to teach our young learners about the important role they play in our community! ❤️

The middle school and JV Trapper golf teams competed in Tyndall(JV) and Springfield today. Overall we had 7 place winners today. The most we’ve had in a long time at one meet!
Campbell Mogck placed 3rd in the JV girls. For the middle school girls Joanna Fergen placed 10th and Sutton Bueber brought home the 5th place medal.
For the middle school boys Andrew Nusz got 15th and placed for the first time in his career!!! Parker Vaith finished 13th, Brigham Rokusek got 5th and Asher Sykora finished 3rd.
This finishes up the middle school and JV season. Coaches are all proud of these young golfers. The Trappers have a lot to look forward to the next few years! Keep up the hard work!
