Career Development Events (CDEs) give FFA members the opportunity to put their classroom learning into real-world action through competitive events.
What are CDEs?
CDEs are designed to develop critical thinking, communication, and decision-making skills while helping students explore potential careers in agriculture. Events are held at the district, state, and even national levels, with many competitions focused on specific industry skills.
Examples of CDE events include:
🐄 Livestock, Horse & Poultry Evaluation – Judging animals for meat production or breeding
💼 Agricultural Sales & Marketing – Creating business plans and delivering sales pitches
🐾 Veterinary Science – Demonstrating clinical and animal health skills
🌎 Environmental & Natural Resources – Exploring ecosystems, conservation, and GPS technology
🧪 Food Science & Technology – Evaluating food safety and processing
🔧 Agricultural Mechanics – Showcasing technical skills in machinery and repair
We are proud of your hard work and dedication. Represent Scotland with pride — we’re cheering you on all the way! 💙🖤🌾
