The Scotland/Menno Trappers hosted the Viborg-Hurley Cougars on Tuesday night, with the Cougars — ranked 4th in Class B and sitting at 16-3 on the season — proving to be a tough matchup across the board.
Boys Recap
The C boys fell 27-41, followed by a 21-41 loss in the JV game.
In varsity action, the Trappers dropped a 24-65 decision to a strong Viborg-Hurley squad. Despite the final score, the Trappers continued to compete against one of the area’s top teams.
Hunter Yosten led Scotland/Menno with 7 points and 6 rebounds, while Jarret Andretta added 5 points and 3 assists.
Girls Recap
The C girls picked up a win, defeating Viborg-Hurley 17-12.
The JV girls fell 13-34.
In varsity action, the Lady Trappers were competitive early and trailed just 13-19 at halftime before ultimately falling 36-29.
Lexie McNinch led the Lady Trappers with 12 points and 9 rebounds, while Hope Starwalt added 10 points in the effort.

The Trappers balanced scoring and timely defense to hold off the Gorillas down the stretch.
Izayah Ulmer led the offense with 10 points and added 2 steals, while Hunter Clark finished with 9 points and 5 rebounds. Jarret Andretta made his presence felt on both ends with 8 points, 3 steals, and 3 rebounds.
Inside, Hunter Yosten controlled the boards with a double-digit rebounding performance, collecting 10 rebounds to go along with 8 points. Micah Goering contributed 8 points and 3 rebounds, helping the Trappers secure key possessions late.
