The 5th-8th Grade ELA Classes wrote and performed their own mini play for their classmates and some of the groups also performed for some of the elementary classes. It was fun watching the creativity and collaboration of these students. SMS has very talented students.

Brooke Schaeffer and Jillian Stark auditioned and were accepted into the Wayne State Middle School Honor Band! They will be traveling to Wayne State College on January 24th to rehearse and perform with other middle school musicians around the area!

We are proud to celebrate Steve Henry as a Modern Woodmen of America Hometown Hero!
The Hometown Hero program recognizes individuals who go above and beyond in serving their communities, and Steve truly embodies that spirit of selfless service. He was nominated by local members and officially recognized Tuesday night during our home double-header basketball game. 🏀
Steve serves our school as a dedicated maintenance team member, putting in countless hours to keep our facilities safe, welcoming, and running smoothly for students, staff, and visitors. Beyond the school day, Steve continues to give back through his church, where he volunteers in many ways — including running the sound system, helping with the youth group, serving on church council, and stepping in wherever help is needed.
As part of this recognition, Modern Woodmen of America is making a donation to a charity or project of Steve’s choice, further supporting the community he serves so faithfully.

The outage is expected to last approximately 30 minutes, and power should be restored shortly after.
All practices and games are still expected to proceed as planned tomorrow evening.
