The Scotland Highlanders traveled to Gayville-Volin last night to take on a very strong team, falling 8-25, 17-25 and 9-25.
Gayville-Volin put a lot of pressure on us with strong serving and some very good hitters. It was a difficult match, but our girls continued to battle and work through each point. Our focus going into the match was to stay positive, keep our energy high and limit the easy mistakes. While we still have areas to improve, there were some good moments of volleyball and our girls continued to compete.
Playing a strong opponent like Gayville-Volin gives us a good opportunity to see the areas where we need to continue to grow. We will take what we learned from this match and use it to get better.
The Highlanders will be back in action tomorrow in Mitchell against Mitchell Christian. We will look to bring a positive attitude, high energy and a competitive mindset into the match.
