Scotland/Menno Junior Varsity Trappers Defeat Howard Tigers JV In High-Scoring Affair
March 31, 2026 vs. Howard Tigers JV
Both Scotland/Menno Junior Varsity Trappers and Howard Tigers JV had their offenses going on Tuesday at TBD, but Scotland/Menno Junior Varsity Trappers eventually prevailed 13-10. Scotland/Menno Junior Varsity Trappers collected seven hits, while Howard Tigers JV had four.
Scotland/Menno Junior Varsity Trappers came back to win despite trailing 5-0 in the first.
Howard Tigers JV jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after #4 drew a walk, scoring one run, #5 was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, #7 drew a walk, scoring one run, and #8 singled, scoring two runs.
Scotland/Menno Junior Varsity Trappers tied the game in the bottom of the first thanks to a single by Wielenga, a ground out by Hargens, and a single by Schaeffer.
Howard Tigers JV captured the lead, 9-5, in the top of the second when #3 drew a walk, scoring one run, #4 grounded out, scoring one run, and #5 drew a walk, scoring one run.
A ground out by #10 extended the Howard Tigers JV lead to 10-6 in the top of the third inning.
Scotland/Menno Junior Varsity Trappers captured the lead, 13-10, in the bottom of the fourth after Schaeffer singled, Bueber walked, and Wielenga stole home, each scoring one run.

Bierle showed a strong eye at the plate on Tuesday, as Bierle walked three times while leading Scotland/Menno Varsity Trappers to a 13-3 victory over Howard Varsity Tigers.
Guthmiller struck out 12 batters on the day. The right-handed pitcher also allowed five hits and three runs over six innings while walking four.
A single by Beyer put Howard Varsity Tigers on the board in the top of the second.

Guthmiller was dominant in the circle, as the pitcher rang up 12 strikeouts in Scotland/Menno Varsity Trappers's 9-0 victory over Centerville Tornadoes on Monday. Guthmiller surrendered zero hits and zero runs over five innings while walking eight.
Scotland/Menno Varsity Trappers got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Bierle singled, scoring one run, and a steal of home scored two runs.
Scotland/Menno Varsity Trappers added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after Neuharth singled, and Neuharth stole home, each scoring one run.
Scotland/Menno Varsity Trappers added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Kubal singled to the right side of the infield, and Hargens lined out, each scoring one run.
